It was not very long ago that many in the Hydrographic Office (HO) community considered Marine Spatial Data Infrastructure (MSDI) as something of a distraction from the core business of providing navigational products and services to the maritime user.
That view has been turned on its head recently with the realisation that the policies, standards and technologies that comprise MSDI are the same as those underpinning e-Navigation.
