We have an excellent opportunity for a Field Engineer or Oceanographic Engineer to join our growing, leading-edge company specialising in the delivery of real time marine data for marine and coastal data management, publishing and decision support.

The Role
You will join a small in-house team designing, installing and supporting the critical sensor networks operated by OceanWise around the UK coastline and overseas for our clients in the Ports, Oil and Gas, Renewable Energy and Marine Scientific sectors.
Your work will involve design and build, installation and maintenance of systems using a wide variety of oceanographic equipment including tide gauges, weather stations, current meters, wave radars and buoys and optical sensors, and ensuring a continuous flow of critical data around the network is something both you and OceanWise will be proud of. Alongside this you will provide support to our customers on the systems and services OceanWise provide.
You will be primarily based at our office in Alton, Hampshire with frequent travel (both within UK and overseas). Flexible hybrid working is also possible.
Personal experience and attributes
A knowledge of the marine environment is advantageous, but not essential. More important is that you are dynamic and enthusiastic with a problem-solving attitude. Hands-on experience in engineering or electronics and system builds is essential and you are looking for new challenges in this exciting sector. You must be adaptable to change and variation on short time scales. Knowledge or experience of geodesy/levelling would be an advantage.
